Marble Mixer brings the classic game of marbles to the technology age. Up to four players can participate or you can play against the computer. There are three different levels that have different objectives. One level wants you to feed a monster, another level wants you to shoot marbles simultaneously, while the third level wants you to take turns shooting marbles. No matter which way you play, the game can be quite entertaining.

The game visuals are rather cute. During the monster game, you try to shoot marbles into his mouth while his eyes open and close. In the space level, lights dance each time you land a marble in a scoring zone. They aren’t exactly state of the art graphics but they are pleasing to the eye and would keep children interested in the game. On the other hand, the scoring system is a little difficult to figure out even with the current in-app instructions. It doesn’t appear points are tallied as explained in the Help section. Scoring is one area that could use some refining as it can be frustrating to kids.

While Marble Mixer is pretty fun, it is best played with multiple human players instead of against the computer. I have found that it can be very difficult to beat the computer, which could be very frustrating for children.
Since you can play the game by yourself or with others, it is likely that children will play the game multiple times. As a result, it is well worth the $1.99 price tag. Granted, there is no educational value but not everything has to be about learning something. Sometimes it’s good to just have fun.
The game is very child friendly. There are no in app purchases for them to accidentally click on. The graphics are bright and interesting. In addition, the rules are extremely easy to understand right from the beginning.
