Straight from the App Store – this month’s New and Noteworthy apps for kids.

Based on a Canadian animated television show, Oh No! It’s an Alien Invasion: Turret Alert is a moderately entertaining game for older elementary and middle school age kids. Unlike many game apps, this is child friendly with no IAP’s (in app purchases) or unprotected external links.

Tiger and Elpho in Animal Land is a charming app that will appeal to the very young. The four games provide practice with essential readiness skills as well as independent learning and play.

Despite the lack of text, kids will enjoy going on another journey with Laura and her little brother Tommy. They’ll head to the City of Dreams to hunt for Tommy’s missing dog and they’ll need kids’ help to find it.

Take a trip around Number Neighborhood where kids can drive, fly, and float to a variety of activities related to number recognition and building basic math skills. As they explore the neighborhood, kids will not only learn about their numbers, they’ll also have a lot of fun.

Solving math problems becomes kids’ special power as they use their skills to build towers and help transform monsters back into numbers in this game that increases in difficulty as kids practice their basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills.
