  • 26 music videos available any time
  • Almost limitless questions
  • Multiple choice format
  • Limited reading required
  • Learn from every aspect of the game

Quality

Sir Dapp! Game Show is a very high-quality app that is intuitive to use. Children will be able to access all of the content independently and play as long as they wish. The app has two modes: game show mode with themed questions, commercials, and public service announcements (most of which are teaching tools) and short music videos that review a single concept related to polite behavior. There are a few interactive animations to discover, such as changing the colors of the stage lights, as well.

Education

This app is quite educational. It provides a comprehensive review and reinforcement of commonly-held behavioral guidelines, such as sitting quietly at meals, saying “excuse me,” and engaging in social conventions such as greetings. Sir Dapp! provides loads of repetition in inoffensive ways, such as repeating concepts in game format, as “commercials,” and in music videos.

It is intended for children ages 5-7 years but does require a small amount of reading during the game show activity. Players can hear the question read aloud, but must read the answer choices independently. These are only read once they are chosen, and if incorrect, will receive a thumbs-down screen with a cute admonition about the behavior. This is one area that could be improved-the target age group may not be able to read the answers effectively and may well be “penalized” for this.

Entertainment

Sir Dapp! Game Show is a very entertaining app, particularly for the target age group. It is colorful, animated, funny, and engaging. The fast pace will help keep players’ attention, and the humorous quick quips will keep them laughing. The app’s characters each have a personality that unfolds during gameplay, too.

Value

Sir Dapp! Game Show costs $3.99 on the App Store and on Google Play. The investment is worthwhile for an engaging app that reviews and reinforces ideas that most families will find valuable. The app is also extraordinarily child-friendly, which is a huge plus. Kids can play as long as they wish with no worries about intrusive ads or straying onto the internet.

Child Friendliness

Sir Dapp! Game Show has no outside links, advertisements, or connections to social media. There is a link to more apps by the developer on the home page, but it is well-protected with an effective parent gate.

  • NO external links
  • NO social media
  • NO 3rd party ads
  • YES in-app purchase but behind a parent gates
