Free App Friday – January 6, 2017- Back to Basics


Welcome to another Free App Friday! This week we’ve found some great free apps to quench your child’s desire for screen time, while providing a learning environment at the same time. We’ve got some math apps for your middles schoolers as they begin to tackle fractions and algebra. We’ve also found some great preschool apps to teach some foundational math concepts while they play.

Car Typing Gallop

Learning to type can be exciting when you make a game of it. Car Typing Gallop allows your child to learn keyboard typing. They will learn to type the correct letters to advance as well as increase their speed.

Candy Factory

Candy Factory is an app that helps middle school students practice fractions. There are 3 different levels for them to go through as they fill customer orders. This a great way to learn fractions in a stress-free environment.

Algebra Champ

Algebra Champ is an app that reinforces introductory algebra principles. The game environment allows them to learn while playing so it doesn’t feel like work. They will play in rounds like a boxing match and earn new characters as well as try to beat their high score.

Cutie Mini Monsters

Preschoolers will love learn to count with Cutie Mini Monsters. Preschoolers will learn their numbers using jigsaw puzzles and a simple counting book. They will love the cute monsters in this app that is easy-to-use.

M21 Farm

Introduce your child to the farm with M21 Farm. They will learn where their food comes from and help with chores on the farm. They will also learn math concepts as they sell their food at the market stand.  This app is a great way to introduce healthy foods and where they come from.
