New & Noteworthy – March 1, 2016: Math and More!

Welcome to another New & Noteworthy, where we bring you all the cool new apps available for your kids. This week we’ve found some great apps that will give your child a great foundation in math. There is also an app that will help your toddler with potty training.

Jump! A Game of Numbers

Save the Snortles! Their home has just erupted and they need help. Using math skills, your child will save Snortles and collect beach balls as they complete the number sequences. This intuitive app will change the difficulty and challenge them without overwhelming them. They will also never play the same game twice. Practicing math skills comes alive in this game. You can also turn off obstacles for a stress-free game.

This app will be a great introduction to the concepts of coding.  It will teach problem solving, spatial visualization, debugging programs and more. This app will give them a starting foundation in concepts found in algebra, geometry, logic, and computer science.  They will have a great time solving puzzles and controlling robots while learning how to code at the same time.

Daniel Tiger’s Stop and Go Potty

Is your toddler having trouble with potty training? Do they understand they need to go but continue to play instead? Daniel Tiger’s Stop and Go Potty app may be a solution to your problem. Your child will help Daniel go to the bathroom when he starts to wiggle while playing. This will reinforce the concept of stopping what you are doing to go use the bathroom. They will learn all about cleanliness and proper bathroom habits.
