Peppa Pig and her brother George want to encourage kids to express themselves creatively. With Peppa’s Paintbox they can do just that, creating fun pictures of their own or filling in coloring pages featuring their favorite Peppa Pig characters. With a large selection of paint brushes, stickers, and other fun tools, kids will have the opportunity to create incredibly unique works of art to display for Peppa Pig and all of her friends to see.

When they open the app, kids see two options: Paint with Peppa and Paint with George. Each character comes with its own set of paint brushes, stickers, and coloring pages for kids to enjoy. Once kids select a character, they’ll find it easy to access the tools. While easy to use, the tools are a little more funky than with a traditional painting app. The lines are thicker, the paint bucket makes splotches, and kids can even throw mud on their paintings. Thankfully, the eraser feature makes it easy to get rid of any mistakes kids may make as they get used to the tools.
This app is not being rated for education.
The painting tools in the paintbox are designed more for fun than precise masterpieces. Some kids will find that the lines may be more squiggly, splotchy, and less precise than they want, but they’ll quickly adapt to the funky designs. What kids will love most is getting to enjoy aspects of their favorite Peppa Pig characters. Stickers containing all of Peppa’s friends make it easy for kids to recreate their favorite scenes from the show or get characters into new situations. Both Peppa and George have their own sets of stickers, so kids will want to play around with both of them. Once they’ve finished their creation, they can tap on the “Done” button to see their picture displayed in Peppa’s classroom and hear the “ooh”s and “ah”s of Peppa and all her friends.
For a free app, it offers a lot of fun tools for kids, plus it gives them access to Peppa Pig, George, Mommy Pig, Daddy Pig, and all of their friends.
Kids will find that the app is easy to navigate and that it’s easy to paint with Peppa or George. Peppa also gives kids clear instructions to help them know what to do when they finish their picture so that they can see it framed on the wall of Peppa’s classroom. There aren’t any outside links or settings screens with blocked contents, so parents can rest assured that all even the youngest of painters can do with the app is paint. Parents will have to give the app access to Photos so kids can save their pictures. To see their pictures again, kids will have to go to the camera roll because they’re not saved within the app.
