Niko and The Sword of Light is a fantastic app that is so much more than that. In fact it is more like an animated comic book. With stunning visuals and audio to accompany an already intriguing story, this app is action packed and is one children are going to truly enjoy. This heroic tale might be best enjoyed by children 9 years of age on up as it does include some dark material that might scare little ones.
- Wonderful graphics & animations
- Action packed story
- Narrated throughout
The first thing you will notice in this incredible app is how wonderful the audio and visuals are. The set-up is incredibly engaging with lots of action, drama, music, and narration that children will love. It is clear that a lot of time and effort went into making this app far more than an app and the developers have done a fantastic job overall.
While this story is very engaging and beautifully done with narration through out, text highlighting is not included. Adding it would be easy to do, however it might take away from the overall feel for the story. With that said this app isn’t really set up to have other educational activities like some storybook apps, but the story itself has a powerful message for children. While Niko thinks he is relying on his Sword of Light to guide him and save the world, he is told all the power he needs is within him. Such a powerful message for children to read.
Niko and The Sword of Light is nothing if not entertaining. While some of it is a bit dark with monsters of sorts, the story is magnificent and the graphics really help to bring it to life with lots of great sound effects, narration, and music. Each chapter is more action packed than the last and children who enjoy graphic novels are going to be absorbed by this one. This is one story that children will be reading over and over again.
Priced at just under two dollars this app is a steal. It’s hard to imagine an app with so many details and great images and illustrations to be priced so well. Parents are going to definitely be happy with the price and the value this story provides. This is sure to become a family favorite.
Due to the sometimes dark nature of the story and the monsters that appear throughout, this app is recommended for children ages 9 and up. The set up is fairly easy to use with an auto play option and simple drag and swipe options to move from page-to-page and children shouldn’t have any trouble using it.
