Hide & Seek: Fun With Animals is a simple and fun app for toddlers that allows them to enjoy a good game of virtual hide & seek with three scenarios for children to explore Full of bright colors and cute animals, this app is easy to use and especially appealing to young children.
- 6 Animals
- 3 Worlds
- Endless play
While the premise behind this app is fairly simple, the set-up is very well done. With bright colors, cute animal images, and detailed worlds for the animals to hide in, the developers have done a great job creating a high quality app. An interesting part of the app is the fact that within each world the animals change where they are hiding which makes for a more fun and challenging hide & seek game to play. If players have a bit of difficulty finding the animals, there are animal sounds that are heard such as a dog barking or a cow mooing. Overall this is a great app for young children.
While this app is not the most educational early learning app around, it does offer young children the opportunity of learning and identifying various animals. They can do this by sight as they find the animals hiding behind trees etc., as well as by sound.
Playing hide and seek in real life can be a ton of fun for kids and Hide & Seek: Fun With Animals gives kids the opportunity to do the same in a virtual environment. This app has three worlds for children to play in including a forest, desert, and a winter landscape. Within each world there are a number of animal friends that are hiding and children must find the animals in the correct order. While at first glance it might seem pretty simple, the developers have added a bit of a challenge by changing the hiding spot for the other animals as each animal is found. Each time the game is played, the animals change their hiding places so each experience is like playing for the first time.
Priced at just under two dollars, this app is priced well. With three environments to play in and the added challenge of changing hiding places, this app has the potential to become a family favorite for young children.
The developers have done an overall nice job creating an app that is safe and easy to use. With simple tap and touch technology and no in app purchases or social media links this app is great for young children.
With that said there is one piece that parents might want to know about. As children tap through and find the various animals in the app they are praised with “good job, you found the cat” and other affirmative words, however when the incorrect animal is selected there seems to be a bit too harsh of a “no, no, no” response which seems to discourage children.
