Like other Oceanhouse Media apps, this app doesn’t include much in the way of extras like games and puzzles, which would be of interest to this age group. However, for “quiet time” book apps, Oceanhouse always delivers.

While the price of this app is a bit higher than I would normally pay for an e-book, I think the illustrations, reading benefits, information, and glossary options make up for the high price. The benefits that young readers will gain from this app outweigh the higher price and make for a good value for both parents and children.

Overall this app is pretty intuitive and child friendly. The main page offers readers the narration options so they can get started right away. They may need a bit of guidance as they move through each page to understand the glossary and word association options in terms of what to touch, but once they do it once, they will be well on their way. With no in app purchase options or social media links, this is one app parents can allow their children to use with little to no monitoring.
