Beautiful and enchanting are two words that come to mind when describing Thumbelina Interactive Book by Aidem Media. This is one of those apps that your child will quickly become immersed in and it will hold their attention for hours.
It would be nearly impossible to list the many activities and interactive objects in Thumbelina. Your child can complete games and puzzles, listen to stories, color or paint pictures and interact with many objects. In the paint section, users can paint by shape, number or math calculations. Two levels of difficulty are available for the activities.
In addition to the enchanting illustrations and music, there is an in-app help and a navigation bar available. The navigation bar is a must in an app this size. The options under settings allow you to choose the level of difficulty, level of sounds and music, and the language.
When the app first opens, the story of Thumbelina is told. At any time during the story the user can touch anywhere on the screen to be taken to the activities or they can listen to the story and then go to the activities.
The app does have some quirks; such as, the help narration does not finish and the narration in some places is too fast. It would also be nice to have options to turn on the text for the Thumbelina story, turn off narration for the story of Thumbelina’s adventure and have text highlight when narration is on for both stories.
Bottom-line: Beautiful and enchanting, Thumbelina Interactive Book, will entertain your child for hours.
