Usborne Sticker Dolly Dressing

In the past I’ve had my older girls (9 & 12) help me review the dress up and fashion apps. Now I’m finally seeing an app that’s just about right for our littlest girl – the Usborne Sticker Dolly Dressing app. Miss J is almost 2 1/2 and I think she’s at the beginning of the age range for this app. She’s been playing with it and while she doesn’t get everything the app can do she’s having a great time dressing up the dolls. It seems perfectly suited for older toddlers, preschoolers and Kindergarteners. That being said, I’m quite certain that I’ll be finding my older girls playing with this app too.

Sticker Dolly Dressing is based on Usborne’s books of the same name. Here you can dress five different dolls, add them to scenes, add in pets, different objects and then change it all up again if you like. The controls are intuitive and easily managed by little fingers. To add stickers to the dolls or the scenes you simply tap, drag and drop. Outfit choices can include tops, skirts, dresses, jeans, leggings shoes and accessories. One of the best surprises in this app was finding that you can change the pattern on an item of clothing. After you dress your doll you can visit a pattern section and easily change up the look of the outfit but still keep the clothing the same. There are different types of polkadots, stripes, plaids and more. In addition to dressing the dolls you can also customize the way that they look. Hairstyle, hair color and skin tone can all be changed.

When your Dolly is complete she can be given a name. You can easily move her around the sticker scene and you can place up to five dolls in each scene. You’ll also find stickers for pets, objects and other items that can be used to liven up your scene. There are almost 200 stickers all together. The dolls and the objects can all be resized with a pinching movement on the screen. When your scene is perfect it can be saved to a gallery, emailed or printed out.

Usborne Sticker Dolly Dressing is easy enough for the young players but with plenty of stickers, patterns and options it will keep older ones busy too. I was impressed with how adaptable this app can be for the different players. It’s definitely the best dress up app I’ve seen for younger children and one of our new favorites.
