Carnival

Turn your backyard or party venue into a carnival! Consider renting carnival-like games if you have the budget and space, such as a dunk tank and booths for throwing balls at bottles or in hoops. Place as many carnival games in your space as possible if you like, and don’t forget about colorful decorations that include lots of streamers. Carnival foods should also be present at a carnival party, such as cotton candy, funnel cake, and hot dogs.

Rock Climbing

Are your kiddies amateur rock climbers? Throw a rock climbing party at your local community center or anywhere else that features faux rock climbing walls. Be sure to offer other activities for kids who don’t want to climb, such as…any game that involves being on the ground.

Laser Tag

Do your children and friends love a good game of laser tag? Plan a laser tag birthday party if such a venue exists near you. “Fun centers” featuring laser tag often offer birthday packages and include plenty of other entertainment sources, such as batting cages and arcades. Choose the birthday package that best suits your needs and enjoy throwing what’s sure to be a great time.

Camping Party

Put a different spin on the traditional sleepover party by turning your backyard into a campsite! Pitch as many tents as you need depending on how many children are attending, and use your fire pit if you have one to roast marshmallows for s’mores. Go for a hike if it’s light out and there’s a trail near your home, or spend an hour catching bugs. Games such as Capture the Flag and Ghost in the Graveyard also work well in a camping party setting. Whatever else, don’t forget to tell ghost stories!

Music Party

Create a party that’s all about music! This is an excellent idea for older kids. Section off a section of your home or yard for dancing, and be sure to rent a dance floor if necessary. Have friends and family dress up as famous musicians and singers, or ask those attending to come as their favorite rock/pop star. In addition to the dance floor, you might want to lead various dances throughout the party, such as line dances or the famous Macarena.
